Educational opportunities
The Minneapolis Riverfront District is a veritable playground
of learning. From the Mill City Museum to the St. Anthony Falls Heritage
Trail, young and old fill their minds with fascinating facts about the history
of Minneapolis.
The Mill City Museum features customized educational programs for children
grade school through high school.
The St. Anthony
Falls Heritage Trail takes visitors on a self-guided tour
of Riverfront landmarks like the Stone Arch Bridge, the Pillsbury A mill
and more.
The St. Anthony Falls Laboratory is a leading interdisciplinary teaching
and research facility of the Departments of Civil Engineering, and
Geology and Geophysics
at the University of Minnesota. It's the world’s only fluid-mechanics
laboratory that uses a natural waterfall as its prime water source.
The RiverCity
Trolley takes passengers on a historical tour through the
Riverfront and downtown, across the Stone Arch Bridge and more.
The
Minnesota Historical Society Established in 1849, the Society
collects, preserves and tells the story of Minnesota's past through
interactive
and engaging museum exhibits, extensive libraries and collections,
25 historic sites, educational programs and book publishing.

The Passport Program is a collection of family-friendly
events and activities on or near the river in the Minneapolis/St.
Paul Metro Area and at the Mississippi Headwaters in northern Minnesota.

Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board provides fantastic activities
and programs in the Riverfront area including simulated archaeological
digs at Mill Ruins Park, walking tours and book clubs.
