Driving here
You don’t have to take a riverboat
to get to the Riverfront. Here are some directions to help get you
there. The Riverfront District is comprised of the east and west banks
of the river in downtown Minneapolis. These directions get you to the
east or west banks of the Riverfront. Simply select the direction you
are coming from the list below.

FROM NORTH METRO
Take I-35W (South) exit onto the Washington Avenue - EXIT #17C.
Turn RIGHT onto Washington Avenue.
To access west side Riverfront: Continue on Washington
Avenue. Turn RIGHT onto Portland Avenue to W. River Parkway. (Limited
parking available).
West side Parking: Surface lots and ramp are available
along S. Washington Avenue between S. 3rd Avenue and Portland Avenue.
To access east side Riverfront: Continue on Washington
Avenue. Turn RIGHT onto Hennepin Avenue crossing the bridge. Turn RIGHT
onto S.E. Main Street.
(Limited meter parking is available).
East side Parking: Continue on S.E. Main Street to S.E.
3rd Avenue.
Turn left. Ramp and surface lot is one block up on S.E. 2nd Street.
To access Old St. Anthony Neighborhood: Continue on
Hennepin Avenue to University Avenue.
Old St. Anthony Parking: Ample meter and ramp parking
available.
FROM SOUTH METRO
Take I-35W (Northbound) EXIT onto the 3rd Street/University of Minnesota
exit - EXIT #17C. Stay in the right lane to the Washington Avenue,
U of M West Band off ramp. Continue to Washington Avenue. Turn LEFT
onto Washington Avenue.
To access west side Riverfront: Continue on Washington Avenue.
Turn RIGHT onto Portland Avenue to W. River Parkway.
(Limited parking available).
West Side Parking: Surface lots and ramp are available along
S. Washington Avenue between S. 3rd Avenue and Portland Avenue.
To access east side Riverfront: Continue on Washington Avenue.
Turn RIGHT onto Hennepin Avenue crossing the bridge.
Turn RIGHT onto S.E. Main Street. (Limited meter parking is available).
East side Parking: Continue on S.E. Main Street to S.E. 3rd
Avenue. Turn left. Ramp and surface lot is one block up on S.E. 2nd Street.
To access Old St. Anthony Neighborhood: Continue on Hennepin
Avenue to University Avenue.
Old St. Anthony Parking: Ample meter and ramp parking available.
FROM EAST METRO
Take I-94 (West) to the 5th Street EXIT #234B.
Continuing on 5th Street EXIT bear RIGHT to Downtown via S. Washington
Avenue. Turn RIGHT onto S. 11TH Avenue. Continue on S. 11TH Avenue.
Turn LEFT onto Washington Avenue.
To access west side Riverfront: Continue on Washington Avenue.
Turn RIGHT onto Portland Avenue to W. River Parkway. (Limited parking available).
West side Parking: Surface lots and ramp are available along
S Washington Avenue between S 3rd Avenue and Portland Avenue.
To access east side Riverfront: Continue on Washington Avenue.
Turn RIGHT onto Hennepin Avenue crossing the bridge.
Turn RIGHT onto S.E. MAIN ST. (Limited meter parking is available).
East side parking: Continue on S.E. Main Street to S.E. 3rd
Avenue. Turn left. Ramp and surface lot is one block up on S.E. 2nd Street.

FROM WEST METRO
Take I-394 (East) downtown to the 3rd Avenue N. / N. Washington Avenue
- EXIT #9C.
Turn RIGHT onto N. Washington Avenue.
To access west side Riverfront: Continue on Washington Avenue. Turn
LEFT onto
Portland Avenue to W River Parkway.
(Limited parking available).
West side parking: Surface lots and ramp are available along S Washington Avenue
between S. 3rd Avenue
and Portland Avenue.
To access east side Riverfront: Continue on N. Washington Avenue.
Turn LEFT onto
Hennepin Avenue crossing the bridge.
Turn RIGHT onto S.E. Main Street (Limited parking available).
East side parking: Continue on S.E. Main Street to S.E. 3rd
Avenue. Turn LEFT. Ramp and surface lot is one block up on S.E. 2nd ST.
To access Old St. Anthony Neighborhood: Continue on Hennepin Avenue
to
University Avenue.

FROM NORTHWEST METRO
Take Interstate 94 East (southbound) to the North
4th Street exit. Take 4th Street to Hennepin Avenue. Turn left. Take
the Hennepin Avenue Bridge across the Mississippi River. Main Street
is the first street on the East side of the river.
